Year 2- World Book Day 2022

A snowy start today here at Ascot Road CFS. We had lots of fun this morning making snow angels and snowballs.

Year 3 have been busy over the holidays making their very own ROBOTS!! Well done, they all look very impressive.

Reception first trip to the local church

The children had an amazing time exploring the Church and they asked lots of inquisitive questions about Jesus. They also looked in detail at the different parts of the Church. Thank you to all the parents for the help and support!

Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Royal Gunpowder Mills. We took part in exciting workshops teaching us all about what it was like to live in 1605 when Guy Fawkes was alive. We make 3D paper Stuart lanterns, smelt and discussed Stuart food, played traditional childhood games, made and wrote with our own feather quills and even watched a performance of the Gunpowder Plot!

Year 3 went to plant bulbs in Cassiobury Park - wait until Spring to see if you can spot our flower!

Year 3 went on a 3D shape hunt around our school to see what shapes were most frequent.

Goodbye and good luck Mrs Beere! We will miss you here at Ascot Road.

This week Year 2 went on a fantastic trip to Bhaktivedanta Manor, home of the Hare Krishna movement. We took a tour of the grounds where we explored the George Harrison garden and took a bumpy ride on a bull cart! Later on we dressed up in saris, turbans and bindis and had our faces painted with bright colours. We observed worship in their shrine room and watched a performance of a traditional Odissi dance.

Warm up Thursday - getting our grooovvee on.

Thank you to all the parent volunteers that came to help us!!

In Reception we are learning about minibeasts!

We went to the outside area and look for minibeasts, we use our magnified glasses and ipads to take pictures of them.

Do you know the name of these minibeasts?
